Our Purpose

At 56th Toronto Scouts, we are committed to fostering resilience, teamwork, and leadership among youth. With more than 60 kids currently in our program, we provide welcoming, co-ed, volunteer-run space where youth can explore their potential and connect with nature.

Through adventurous activities and community service, Scouts develop vital life skills while building lasting friendships. Together, we inspire a generation to make meaningful contributions to society.

Our Sections

Co-ed, volunteer run programs in our local community

We strive to promote learning and fun in nature, from camping trips to community service events. Each of our sections meets once per week from September - May, as well as running weekend camps year-round and a week-long adventure during the summer. Explore our programs.

Beavers

Ages 5-7

Our Beavers meet Tuesday evenings (6:00–7:00 pm) at Glenview Presbyterian Church. Through the year, they enjoy overnight camps, stargazing on Astronomy Night, nature hikes, and building Beaver Buggies — all while learning teamwork, confidence, and having fun.

Cubs

Ages 8-10

Our Cubs meet Thursday evenings (6:30–8:00 pm) at Melrose Community Church. Each year they head out on hikes, tackle egg drop challenges, go rock climbing, and explore the city on a subway scavenger hunt — all alongside half-a-dozen camping trips in both cabins and tents.

Scouts

Ages 11-14

Our Scouts meet Tuesday evenings (7:00–9:00 pm) at Glenview Presbyterian Church. Their year includes weekend camps, week-long canoe trips, and even international adventures. Scouts take on exciting challenges like building trebuchets, white-water rafting, and mentoring younger sections along the way.

Venturers

Ages 15-18

Our Venturers meet on Monday nights throughout the school year at various locations around the North York, Lawrence Park, and Leaside neighbourhoods in Toronto. The Venturers plan their own camps and activities throughout the year, ranging from game nights to skill-building, to community service, to extended camping trips.

Fundraisers

Our Scouts run annual fundraisers that bring the community together and support youth programs all year long. From apples to evergreens to garden soil, each purchase helps fund camps, adventures, and activities that teach kids new skills and give back to the community.
